SUMMARY


Limak Inşaat – Kuwait has reached Kuwait University seeking collaboration to provide adequate training programs for young engineers. The project was created based on the initiative of Limak Group. The program aims to funnel more young female to thrive in the private sector of Kuwait. The program is structured to provide the trainees with the essential technical and professional skills that would help them to succeed in their future professional careers. The program provides 200 hours of training (appr.) while the target participants are female senior students at the College of Engineering and Petroleum at the University of Kuwait and the estimated number of participants for each cohort is limited to 30 students.



WHY ‘KUWAIT’S ENGINEER GIRLS PROJECT’ ?


While more and more women are interested to follow engineering track, Kuwait’s Engineering Girls Project aims to create more professional opportunities for future engineers well-equipped to play significant roles on Kuwait’s development.



AIM OF THE PROJECT


Parallel to Kuwait’s ambitious strategy to transform itself into a lucrative business and cultural hub, the program aims to contribute Kuwait’s vision through funneling more engineers, especially women engineers into country’s public and private sectors. Thus, both for public and private sectors, a pool of experienced youth will be created. This pool will be an attractive source for local and foreign companies already operating in Kuwait.



OBJECTIVE


The main objective of the program is to help students develop their professional as well as personal skills that include but not only limited to:


  • Team work and decision making
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Time management
  • Building self-esteem and creating a positive self-awareness.
